Easter

Since it is almost a week past Easter I figure now is a good time to get an Easter post up. Our Easter was wonderful this year. We have been apart of a new church starting here in the valley and Easter was our first Sunday meeting. The Lord has definitely had His hand in this church and our first Sunday meeting. Everything went really well!! The services are at a local elementary school so there is a lot of set involved. After the service we had treats and coffee and most families stayed around to talk for a while. Micah had so much fun running around with the "big kids". He is certainly most interested in kids a few years older then kids around his age.

Later that day we had dinner with family and a couple families from church. It was a lovely evening. We enjoyed our entire day celebrating our risen Lord with friends and family.

La Grande

A couple weekends ago we drove out to La Grande to visit The Farmer's brother and his family. They used to live in the area and we miss having them around. Micah missed playing with his cousins Abby and Emma and I think they missed him. The last time I had driven that far east was in college. I was so surprised at the number of wind turbines that are up now. We had a great time in La Grande and it definitely reminded us of Bend's climate, dry, cold and sunny.

And seriously when did these girls get so old!

I know the focus is off on this one but I had to put it in. Micah is seeing their 4-wheeler take off. He is definitely a boy.

Just Call Me Fafa

Micah as been calling The Farmer Papa for quite awhile. But he hasn't been calling me Mama. A few weeks ago he started saying Fafa. Since it was so similar to Papa I figured it was just him exploring more sounds and being silly. But we started to notice that he was saying it more when I would leave the room. We have now learned that Fafa is what he calls me. Haha. I mean it is great he has a name for me but Fafa. Oh my goodness funny. I know it will change to Mama once he is better able to pronounce constants. So for now I get to laugh and enjoy him calling me Fafa.

Also noticed I need to get more pictures of Micah and myself. I was trying to find a picture for this post because I have this thing of always wanting a picture to go along with a post. But there were no recent pictures of Micah and me that would work. I must get more of The Farmer and Micah too.

18 Months

Last week my baby turned 18 months old. It is amazing how quick a year and half can go by and how much Micah has changed. He just had a check up and he measured 32.5 inches tall, and weighed 21.5 pounds. He seems to weigh a lot more then that to me so I'm not sure what is going on there.

Micah has definitely become quite a character. He makes us laugh all the time. He is learning a lot and his language development seems to really be moving forward. He understands so much and is trying to say many words. Some of the words he says right now are:

Papa
Grandpa
Please
Thank you
Book
Out
Up
Cup
Truck
Food
Hi
Bye
Play
Ball
Dog
Yeah
Light
Uh-oh

Now mind you he does not say consonants very clearly so many of these words sound similar and I have to take into context to know exactly what he is saying. He can say many other words if you ask him to. Just a few days ago he started saying baby and yesterday he surprised me and said bubble. I could just keep writing about what he is doing but how about just a couple more cute pictures.

Independent

Micah really enjoys being outside. A few days ago he decided he wanted to go outside and was going to get ready. He put on all of this himself! First was the snowsuit, he was so happy with himself when he got it on. I have to say I was impressed too. Next he got the boots on and then the hat. He was ready to go. Oh this boy makes me laugh.

Where Did I Go

Wow not sure why I haven't blogged in so long. For a while I felt like I was just catching up on life once C had returned home. Can't really use that reason anymore, he has been home for weeks now. So I guess I will try to do a little up date.

In January and a little bit of February C was gone with the national guard on a training mission in the middle east (not a combat area). It was so sweet when he got home Micah just reached up to him for a hug put his head on his shoulder and didn't move.

Micah loves being outside. He enjoys "helping" with the addition or at least watching and playing with wood.

The trees are still dormant as they should be and covered in snow.

We had a nice day, it was cold but we took advantage and went to a near by park. Micah loved it and it helps give this very active toddler some much needed large motor movement.

Throwing rocks into the river with Papa, what could be more fun.

A Few Things I Want to Remember

A couple days ago I started complying a list of things about Micah right now that I want to remember. But it is certainly not all inclusive. I have really enjoyed writing these down. I must do this more often.

:You usually give me a kiss when you want to, not always when I ask for one. And it is always an open mouth kiss.

:Your head on my shoulder.

:If we take off your shirt and pants you head straight to the bath, pulling one of us along with you.

:The way you sign please and say “eeee”.

:When you blow kisses you put your hand to your mouth but you haven’t gotten the blowing away yet.

:You coming to give me a hug in the middle of playing.

:Your “funny face”.

:How much you love exploring cause and effect. You get so happy when you push something, like a light switch and it does something.

:Finding toys or your cup in various cupboards.

:You love putting on other peoples shoes.

:The way you bounce up and down to dance.

:Your little hand reaching out and grasping mine.

:You love to read, both by yourself and us reading the story to you.

:These simple days.

:That I have your full attention and that you want mine.

:How you get extra goofy in your highchair once you finish eating. Must remember "crazy Micah".

:All of your words are vowels.

:The way you say “uh-oh” and that you have different tones for when you mean it in different ways.

:You like to move, move, move.

:You are very interested in cars and trucks.

:Your many laughs.

:Playing chase you with.

:How quickly you are picking up on everything, what things are called, how things work, what we do at certain times, etc.

:The way you imitate us in what we do and what we say.

:Your feet hang down when I hold you.

:After you take a drink you will sometimes say “ahhh”.

:The way you stand up.

:The look on your face when I start to chase you.

:When I say “come here Micah” you look at me with a mischievous smile, laugh and run the other way thinking it is a game (that will be changing soon).

:I am amazed at how much you understand.

:You want to be close to me.

:That you prefer me.

:I can still hold you in my arms, though your legs hang off to the side.

:The way your little toes grip the ground when you are standing and walking.

:There are certain things you don’t like out of order, like when a chair was on its side you kept saying “uh-oh” until it was back as it should be.

:When we pray before meals you will reach out to hold our hands. You like to pray so much you ask to pray all throughout the meal.

:Love your red, fine, fluffy hair.

:How you say hat and how much you love to wear them.

:The way you squint and hide your face when the lights are turned on in the morning, they are so bright.

:Sometimes I will catch you sleeping on your stomach with your bottom up in the air (so cute).

:The way you back up to our laps when you want to read a book.

So this video kind of goes with this post. I must warn, grab a tissue you, especially if you are a parent or are the sentimental type (like me) or tend to cry easily. It totally made me cry.
