2 Months

2 months, time really does go fast. I've heard it said "the days are long, but the years are short", right now I feel the days are short too. It is amazing how quickly a day goes by and sometimes how little I have gotten done.

Seriously, Micah is two months already, that is crazy! He is getting big too. We had his two month doctor appointment yesterday, he weighs 12lbs. 1oz!! That is just about a pound and a half shy of doubling his birth weight. He is now 23 inches long, he was 20.5 inches at birth.

Micah is not only growing physically, but cognitively as well. Somethings he is doing now is smiling at us (which is so fun), he tracks both of our faces really well, he is cooing, he blows bubbles, he has better control over his head and has “found” his hands. As these days go by we are trying to treasure our time with Micah, even the middle of the night time with him.

Am I?

I look at this boy and I wonder, who will Micah be in twenty-five, thirty, forty years because of who I am now?

Do I spend my time focusing on His Words or my concerns and worries?

Do I meditate and memorize His Word?

Am I leading a life worthy of being entrusted with guiding another person through the journey here on this earth?

Am I doing all that I can to raise this boy in the ways of our Father and be devoted to Him? I think not.

So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. 2 Corinthians 2:18
Do I get the right things done in a day? Am I focusing on the collecting dust, the laundry waiting to be fold, the dishes in the sink or the unseen, eternal things?

For some reason God has granted us His child and He will guide us in raising him. Micah came from God, and it is our responsibility to lead him back to His presence. All I can do is seek His face and trust Him to provide us with the wisdom when we need it. I also realize only the Spirit of God can truly shape Micah into a whole and holy person. Though we will instruct and admonish, it is not our parenting that completes this work.

As I stumble through this life and through this thing called motherhood I pray God will give me the strength and discernment to teach Micah.

365 Part III

Okay I'll be honest, I'm going to be using more then (or is it than) picture a day. There is just no way I will be able to cut some pictures. Though some days I will still need some help because there are just too many pictures. I think two, maybe three a day is good, beyond that some need to go. So at this point I will just post the daily pictures and let you know when I need help eliminating some.

Hunt 2010

Last week C and seven other guys went elk hunting. Half had tags and half were the "Marthas" of the camp. I am sure C could tell you a great story about their week. What I can tell you is we will soon have a freeze full of meat. That's right folks C got an elk. Way to go!! I am very proud of him.

Look the elk is even smiling and chewin' some hay (lets at least call it hay).

That there is the gun C used to shoot the elk.

It is a Nosler rifle.

It is for sale.

For $1800.

Which of course we have laying around, so of course we are going to purchase the rifle C used to get his first elk. Ha. At least whoever does buy it can know they could be successful with the rifle.

The best part though is this

When C got back and Micah saw him he was full of smiles. Micah was so happy to see his Papa. It was wonderful not just to see my boys back together but that Micah recognized C and was so obviously excited to see him again.

365 Part II

Thanks for your votes on day 1!

Here is day 2
Day 3Day 4
Decisions, decisions...this is going to be hard to narrow these down to one a day. Also note these are S.O.O.C. (straight out of camera), some minor editing will be done once I decide on the one for each day.

These pictures seem so long ago. But it was just 7 weeks ago. I am definitely trying to cherish each day with Micah because time really does go fast and he will never be this young again. He has really gotten big now. As well as interacting and responding more to us. He has smiled at us both and he has smiled at both of his Grandmothers too. What fun!
