The Buying Begins

If you didn't notice in the week 25 pictures let me point it out. See that stretchy band...yep, I did it. I bought maternity jeans. And you know what, they are much more comfortable. I still wear my regular jeans with the belly bands though. Maybe I'll only have to buy one pair of maternity jeans, (fingers crossed).

First piece of furniture for the baby's room! We went around to a few garage sales the first weekend we were back in Bend and found this chair. It is in really good shape, construction looks good and all the cushions are removable (read easier to clean or recover in the future). The price was good too. We couldn't walk away from it, so the first color of the baby's room has been determined.

Since then I saw this blanket at Target that I love the color scheme of. It is light blue, green, brown and yellow. Sounds like a lot of colors, I know, but some of those will just be accent colors. At first I was thinking of designing the baby's room with stronger colors, not so "baby" but I really liked these colors together. It also had this really cute elephant, which I envision some cricut animals decorating the space. :) Pictures to come.

Now the stock piling has also begun. With sales and coupons we got these at about ten cents per diaper. I'm happy with that price but I hope to get that lower with better sales. As of now I think I have enough newborn diapers as long as we don't have a really small baby that is slow to put on weight. Now on to wipes....

  1. There is a great deal on wipes this week at Rite Aid - 2.49 each, and there are 2.00 manufacturer coupons from the P&G insert (or I just bought a bunch from Ebay). I'm sure the Money Saving Mom has it posted. I've started the diaper/wipe stockpile as well!

  2. Costco is a GREAT place to buy wipes too! They sell Huggies diapers and wipes and Kirkland diapers and wipes (made by Huggies). They don't carry Pampers, which we use :-( Abigail has leaked through Huggies every single time we've tried! But so many people I know who have boys use Huggies and girls use Pampers....weird! But yes, Costco has great prices on diapers AND wipes, Huggies :) Also, sign up for the baby coupons on Target's website, I'm not sure exactly where it's at on the website, but I don't think it's too hard to find. Every 1-2 months you'll get a pamphlet in the mail with coupons for Target. This is great because you can combine those coupons with newspaper coupons to get even more of a discount! PS - my maternity jeans were THE MOST COMFORTABLE PANTS, EVER! Loved them!!!! You look GREAT! :)

  3. Hey! Thought I'd pass this along....diapers.com is a good website, they have things in bulk for good prices (pretty much what you'll find in the store, but sometimes cheaper)

They have a big sale going on now, so thought I'd pass it on....

Also, if you use the code "Diapers49" at checkout, you'll get free shipping if you have spent $49.00 or more. (good deal!) And if you are a 1st time customer, you can enter the code "SLICKWIPES" to get $10.00 off AND free shipping! (can't beat that!)

  4. Melissa- I only had one of those coupons but I did get one package.

Emily- Costco prices are what I try to beat. I don't think I'm signed up at Target, I'll have to do that. I've seen lots of coupon codes for diapers.com but I haven't looked at the website yet.
