Roar

Micah was making this noise after dinner one evening. We were all smiling and laughing and he kept doing it. I think he was really enjoying himself.

What I've Learned (so far)

::I fully understand the term "going to town", unfortunately town is still small, there's no craft store. Gasp what is a girl to do!

::Along with the "going to town" I now have to remember to account for much more drive time to go anywhere.

::I have learned what a trip to Portland (more Gresham area really) entails, a very full trunk.

::Boots are no longer just for looks. Notice the picture.

::I need to start referring to things as north, south, east and west, not left and right. Good thing there is a really big mountain to help with that. Two actually we have a view of Mt. Adams too.

::Locations are referenced by so and so's drive way or so and so's property, or their other property, or even things like the white cow place (which by the way no longer have cows but it is still called that). Eeek how am I ever going to get this!

::My nieces who are 7 and 9 know more about the area then I do.

::I used to think I had a well stocked pantry, but nothing compares to a country pantry.

::I often have no idea what people are talking about, but I just go with it.

::I need to know how to drive the 4-wheeler and the gator.

::A mudroom is called a mudroom for a very good reason.

::Even though I don't like cats that much they need to be around as "mousers". I try not to give myself any mental pictures of that.

I know there is more but that's all I got right now.

7 Months

Baaaa Micah is now closer to being a year old then from when he was born!!! He is growing fast. A week ago we had his 6 month check up, he weighed 16lbs. 3oz. and was 27.5 inches long. Now he is roll all around, back to tummy, tummy to back, back to tummy.... He is moving around quite a bit, no forward movement yet though, just turning around in circles and scooting backwards. Micah has also starting to chat more and he is connecting that he can make us laugh, oh and he has "found" his tongue. He claps, enjoys playing with blocks, books and cups.

He continues to enjoy songs and rhymes, some of his favorites This Little Piggy, The wheels on the Bus, Ten Little Monkeys (we shorten it to five), I Like to Eat Apples and Bananas (if you grow up listening to Wee Sing Silly Songs you will know this one), I'm sure there is more he likes I'm missing.

The foods he is eating now is rice cereal, bananas, prunes, carrot, squash, sweet potatoes, peas, and green beans.

I know some of this is of no interest to some of you, but it is also for me. It will be good to have all this information to look back at when I finally get to scrapbooking him at this age.

The Craft Room: Ruffle Flower T-shirt

Fun DIY project to spice up a plain T.

:: Start with a basic t-shirt, you will need two shirts. So it is best to get them on clearance or real cheap. I got these at H&M. I bought one my size and the other the biggest size they carried so I had plenty of extra fabric.

:: With the extra shirt cut up rough flowers with five petals (from now on I refer to these as the petals). This turned out to be the most time consuming part, I was hoping my cricut would be able to do it but sadly it didn't work.

:: Next pin on the petals where you want the flowers to be. (Lesson learned, make them closer together then I did here).

:: Each of the flowers used five petals. Take one petal, fold it in half and then fold it in half again. Next stitch it onto the shirt, repeat with three more so you have a total of four petals making the flower. Use the fifth one in the center (folding it the same way), I had to add a few extra stitches on this petal to make it open up how I wanted.

:: Final result....I am happy with how it turned out. As I said though I would have done the flowers tighter together, especially since after I washed it the shrunk a little. Now I am on the hunt for another sweet deal on two shirts.
